TREK STORE CANADA CUP PROMISES A WEEK-LONG FESTIVAL OF MOUNTAIN BIKING

Large participation expected on last chance to race Pan-Am Games course at Hardwood Ski and Bike

(Oro Station, ON – June 8, 2015) Hardwood Ski and Bike, site of three Canadian Mountain Bike Championships events, is once again this year welcoming the Canadian mountain bike world to its trails at the classic Trek Store Canada Cup.

The event is celebrating in 2015 its 20th anniversary of hosting Canada Cup or Canadian Championships races.

Organizing a week-long mountain bike festival, Pulse Racing will showcase this year the Tuesday Fun Ride, its weekly Trek Wednesday Night Race featuring the Pan-Am Torch Relay Celebration, the Thursday Eliminator, a Saturday Move Canada Fun Ride prior to the races on Sunday. A large Expo and Team Festival area will be set up for the riders and spectators alike.

This year, a large international crowd is expected to participate in the Canada Cup with a last chance for riders to preview the official course to be used at the Pan-Am Games later in the summer. The organizer is also offering discounted race entry and insurance fees for First-Time Ontario Cup youth riders, enticing a new generation to be initiated to mountain biking.

Glenn Meeuwisse, Race Director at Pulse Racing, is thrilled about the 2015 edition of the Trek Store Canada Cup: “We are very excited to have the Canada Cup events back after the last two years hosting the Canadian Championships. The course upgrades we have been able to make for the Pan Am Games makes for World Class level racing for the Elites. Hardwood also has so many great trails we can also make more rider friendly courses for the youth and sport riders. We truly want to create a festival atmosphere that is FUN for all ages and abilities to participate. The Elite course is very spectator friendly and thrilling to watch, and really showcases the amazing skills of the Elite riders.”

The Trek Store Canada Cup is also part of the internationally-sanctioned UCI Junior Series XCO.

“We had a spectacular Canadian Championships at Hardwood Ski & Bike last year and I’m sure that The Trek Store Canada Cup organized by Pulse Racing will finds ways to raise the bar once again. Riders and spectators alike will be treated to a preview of the Toronto 2015 Games as the race will use the majority of the Pan-Am Games’ course,” echoed Mathieu Boucher, Director of Performance Development at Cycling Canada.
