CAN-BIKE Instructors are community leaders in cycling safety. They are experts with the certification to prove it. CAN-BIKE Instructors gain access benefits and resources that make leading cycling instruction easier and reduce risk. Some reasons to become a CAN-BIKE Instructor are:

  • Receive insurance coverage for yourself as an instructor
  • Ability to access discounted insurance coverage for your participants if not already in place
Instructor Requirements

To become an instructor, candidates must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have previously completed the Level 5 course
    • To be eligible for a Level 5 course, candidates must complete a Level 4 course with an 80% or better mark on the written exam, handling skills, and road tests.
  • Be an experienced rider with demonstrated competence
  • Have some teaching experience or training.
  • Have a bicycle in safe operating condition and a bicycle helmet. Both the bicycle and helmet should meet all local requirements in your area.
