OTTAWA, ON (July 29, 2026) – Masters athletes from across the country will gather in Calgary, Alberta, from August 1–3, 2026, as the Canadian Masters Road Championships return for a three-day showcase of time trial, road race, and criterium competition. Hosted in partnership with Bow Cycle & Sports, the Championships will highlight the strength, depth, and dedication of Canada’s Masters Road racing community across multiple age‑group categories.

Plus, we have a long standing street festival associated with the criterium to unwind at.”
Across three days of racing, Masters athletes will take on a full championship program beginning with the time trial on Saturday, August 1 at Weedon Pioneer Hall. Racing continues Sunday, August 2 with the road race at Wolfe Calgary, featuring category‑specific distances and a challenging course. The Championships conclude on Monday, August 3 in Bowness, where a high‑speed criterium integrated into the Tour de Bowness will deliver technical corners and an energetic community atmosphere to close out the weekend.
A strong group of returning champions will headline the 2026 Masters fields, bringing experience into Calgary. Benoit St‑Hilaire, last year’s Masters A winner in the time trial, is set to defend his title alongside Dean Brandt, the Masters C Men time trial champion, and Margie Ritchie, who captured the Masters D Women time trial crown. Brian Countryman returns as a dual champion in Masters D Men, having won both the time trial and road race in 2025, as well as another double champion, Debra Sluz, who took gold in both the time trial and road race in the Women’s Masters B category. On the road race side, Bruce Bird (Masters C Men) and Andrew Conley (Masters B Men) will line up to defend their maple‑leaf jerseys. The criterium will also see several champions back on the start line, including Greg Boileau (Masters B Men), Maurice Worsfold (Masters C Men), and Daniel Blanche (Masters D Men), each aiming to repeat their 2025 victories.
