The following press release is from Grand Prix Cycliste Gatineau.

Gatineau, May 8 2014 – The world best’s female cyclists will be back in Gatineau in June for the 5th edition of the Grand prix cycliste Gatineau.

A high caliber female sqad will compete in the streets of Gatineau in a time trial on June 6 and a road race on June 7. But international races are only part of what has become a landmark of the cycling world.

The Grand prix weekend also continues to host the ”Coupe Quebec Cuisses Or de l’Outaouais”, part of the series for young cyclists sanctioned by FQSC with a road race on June 7 and a sprint, a skill circuit and a criterium on June 8.

Also returning this year, a road race for amateurs who can challenge themselves on either a

111.8 km or 69.3 km closed road circuit through the Allumettières Bouleveard and beautiful trails of the Gatineau Park . This year, some adjustments were made to the first loop of the circuit for safety reasons.

Finally, changes have also been made to the site in order to enhance the proximity between the spectators and athletes. The start and arrival area is now located at the corner of Brodeur Street and the Lac-Des-Fées Promenade. The Velo Village is located near the finish area and offers spectators a selection of local cycle retailers, activities and specialized cycling services.
