Affiliate Resources

Affiliate Member Requirements

All member clubs/teams of the 1882 Collective must be either:

  • A currently registered Provincial Club in good standing with their relevant Provincial/Territorial Cycling Association
  • A Nationally affiliated Trade Team

Furthermore, all those seeking to join the 1882 collective must outline the intent of their fundraising campaign, to be closely vetted by Cycling Canada to ensure funds contribute to the overarching objectives of the Collective.

How does it work?

Interested clubs must first complete the 1882 Collective Affiliate Club Registration form found below. Once the form has been completed, a member of Cycling Canada’s staff will review and verify all information presented, including direct consultation with the affiliate’s relevant Provincial/Territorial Cycling Association.

Once all information has been collected and verified, Cycling Canada will complete an initial setup of the affiliate’s online fundraising page through the Zeffy online fundraising platform. Following this step, Cycling Canada will provide administrative access to the Affiliate member to verify all information and launch the fundraising campaign.

Affiliate members will have the ability to customize their fundraising pages in the following ways:

  • Insert unique landing page image, logo and “about” details
  • Custom automated Thank You email messaging for all incoming donations
  • Customized pre-set donation tiers (annual, one-time and/or monthly)
  • Option for automated notifications any time a new donation is received

How are affiliate funds allocated/distributed?

To administer the 1882 Collective, Cycling Canada has chosen the Zeffy online fundraising platform to ensure maximum impact of donor funds. The Zeffy platform charges no user, systemor transaction fees, allowing 100% of donations to be funneled directly into the Canadian cycling ecosystem.

All donations received via 1882 Collective affiliate campaign are deposited directly to Cycling Canada. Per Canada Revenue Agency regulations, and to ensure compliance with Cycling Canada’s charitable status, Cycling Canada retains 10% of all donations received through the 1882 Collective to ensure donor impact at the National level. For Provincial Clubs and Provincial Trade Teams, a further 5% of funds raised are allocated to the Provincial/Territorial Cycling Association where the Club is registered. The remaining 85% of funds are distributed directly to the affiliate member on a monthly basis.

To ensure complete transparency, affiliate administrators may log-in to their respective fundraising campaign pages at any time to review status of funds raised and communicate with donors.
