OTTAWA, ON (February 27, 2026) – As Canada prepares to welcome the world for the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montreal this September 20th- 27th, Cycling Canada is proud to unveil “Made in Canada” as the national campaign theme for this historic moment and the largest event the city has seen since the 1976 Olympic Games.
“Hosting the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal is a defining moment for Canadian sport and an unforgettable opportunity for our National Team to race on home soil,” noted Cycling Canada CEO Mathieu Boucher. “Nearly fifty years after the Olympic Games, the world returns to one of our great sporting cities, and Canadians will have the chance to stand behind our athletes as they compete on the biggest stage in cycling. The Made in Canada campaign reflects the pride, history, and community that shape our sport uniting fans from coast to coast and celebrating what it truly means to race, host, and succeed as Canadians.”
The Made in Canada campaign serves as both a declaration of pride and an invitation for Canadians. It reflects the journey of Canadian cyclists at every level of sport, from community clubs to the world stage, while honouring the legacy of cycling in Canada. It also positions Montreal 2026 as a defining moment for Canadian sport. A moment where we welcome the world with pride and showcase not only our athletes, but the values, dedication, and spirit that shape them. The campaign is anchored in four core pillars that reflect the identity of Canadian cycling: honouring our rich cycling heritage and the athletes who built it; embodying the spirit of the gracious champion, defined by intensity, integrity, and humility; celebrating genuine Canadian pride as our athletes compete on the global stage; and unifying Canadians across regions, backgrounds, and communities through a shared celebration of cycling excellence. The Made in Canada campaign is a chance for Canadians to stand together, celebrate what makes our cycling community unique, and take pride in our athletes, carrying with them the dedication and spirit that is truly made in Canada. The return of the Road World Championships represents an important moment for cycling in Canada. Montréal’s 1974 edition remains a landmark in the sport’s history, and hosting again more than 50 years later offers a rare opportunity to honour that legacy while showcasing the next generation of Canadian riders. The championships will bring world‑class racing back to Montréal on a course that features the city’s iconic Mont Royal circuit, creating a thrilling event for fans and communities across the country.
Cycling Canada invites communities from coast to coast to coast to join the Made in Canada movement as we approach this monumental moment right here at home in Canada.
