NEWS FLASH: ISABELLA HOLMGREN BREAKING NEWS TODAY WITH A REMARKABLE OVERALL WIN AT THE TOUR DE L’AVENIR 

OTTAWA, ON (August 29, 2025) – Isabella Holmgren of Orillia, Ontario, made history today by becoming the first Canadian ever to win the overall title at the Tour de l’Avenir Femmes, capping off a dominant week of racing with a powerful ride in the final mountain time trial in La Rosière, France. 

Holmgren, racing for Team Canada, led from the opening prologue and never looked back, showcasing her versatility across summit finishes, technical descents, and time trials. Her consistent performances earned her three stage victories and the coveted yellow jersey, which she defended, supported by a strong team, with poise and strength against a world-class U23 field.  

Isabella Holmgren has been turning heads since her junior days, racking up world titles in cyclocross and mountain biking, and now she’s conquered one of the toughest U23 stage races in the world. Team Canada delivered a strong collective showing throughout the week including, twin sister, Ava Holmgren, played a key role as a domestique, helping control the race and support Isabella’s historic charge to the top.
