OTTAWA, ON (September 7, 2025) – On one of the most legendary and unforgiving tracks in downhill mountain biking, Canadian athlete Jackson Goldstone delivered a fearless, all-out run to capture his first Elite Men’s Downhill World Championship title in Champéry, Switzerland.
Tackling one of the sport’s most technically demanding courses, Goldstone laid down a blistering time of 2:54.153, outpacing Germany’s Henri Kiefer (+1.946) and Ireland’s Ronan Dunne (+1.993) to secure the rainbow jersey.
“This one was for Stevie Smith all the way,” Goldstone told Canadian Cycling Magazine following his run. “Coming across that grass section, I was on a wild horse and just trying to hold on.”
Goldstone’s win adds to an already outstanding season highlighted by four World Cup victories and the overall series lead, further reinforcing his status as one of the premier downhill athletes on the international stage.
