OTTAWA, ON (January 12, 2026) – The 2026 Canadian Track Championships concluded three days of high‑intensity racing at the Vélodrome Sylvan Adams, where athletes from across the country delivered exceptional performances at the first Canadian Championship of the year.
James Hedgcock dominated the men’s sprint events with victories in the Sprint, Kilo Time Trial, and Keirin, while Lauriane Genest won both the Women’s Sprint and Keirin, and Sarah Orban claimed the Women’s Kilo Time Trial. In the pursuit events, Carson Mattern and Fiona Majendie secured the men’s and women’s titles respectively. Brody Mann won the Men’s Points Race, with Cameron Fitzmaurice taking the Men’s Elimination Race, Jonathan Hinse earning the Men’s Scratch title, and Justine Thomas securing the Women’s Scratch crown. Alexandra Volstad delivered a standout triple sweep in the Women’s Points Race, Elimination Race, and Omnium, while Gabriel Seguin captured the Men’s Omnium. Team Ontario and Composite 1 earned national titles in the Men’s and Women’s Team Sprint events, and Équipe du Québec closed the Elite program with Madison victories from Jonathan Hinse and Gabriel Seguin in the men’s race, and Lily Plante and Justine Thomas in the women’s race.
Mel Pemble swept the Women’s C3 Kilo Time Trial, while Jessica Law matched that performance in the Women’s C5 category. Lachlan Hotchkiss earned a victory in the C4 Kilo Time Trial, and John Sonnenschein claimed both the Men’s C5 Pursuit and Kilo Time Trial titles. Lowell Taylor and pilot Jason Abbott won the Para B Men’s Kilo Time Trial, while Matthieu Croteau‑Daigle and pilot Olivier de la Durantaye captured the Para B Men Pursuit. Salomon Grigy claimed the Para C4 Men Pursuit title to round out a strong weekend of para‑track racing.
Masters competition featured several standout multi‑event champions across age categories, alongside newly crowned scratch race winners. Maxime Forget (Masters A) collected titles in the Kilo, Individual Pursuit, Team Pursuit with RRSK, and the Masters A Men Scratch Race title. Guylaine Larouche (Masters D) matched that performance with victories in the 500m Time Trial, Individual Pursuit, and the Master Women Team Sprint with Purple Sun. Josee Rossignol (Masters B) secured both the 500m Time Trial and Individual Pursuit, while Valerie Lamantia (Masters A) swept the Sprint, Keirin, Individual Pursuit, and the Masters Women A Scratch Race title. Frank Kovacs (Masters C) earned the 500m Time Trial and C/D Sprint titles, and Jeremie Fontanaud (Masters B) completed a sprint double with wins in both the Sprint and Keirin.
