OTTAWA, ON (August 27, 2026) – Canada’s top stars of BMX Racing will compete in St. Albert, Alberta this weekend as the city hosts the 2026 Canadian BMX Racing Championships alongside Canada Cup Round 9. The two‑day event, from August 29-30, will bring riders from across the country to one of Canada’s most technical and newest championship ready tracks for a full schedule of national‑level racing.

The athletes bring an incredible level of skill, and St. Albert is ready to host a weekend that truly showcases the best of Canadian BMX.”
Saturday’s Canadian Championships will see Elite, U23, Junior, and Challenge category athletes compete for the maple‑leaf jersey on a fast, technical course. Racing continues Sunday with Canada Cup Round 9 and Alberta Cup #9. Riders will be looking to gain critical points as the event marks one of the last Canada Cups of the season on a track that has quickly become one of the most anticipated stops on the championships calendar.

This year’s Championships will also see the return of several standout performers from the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Molly Simpson, one of Canada’s most iconic BMX Racing athletes, is set to line up in St. Albert following a strong run of World Cup podiums and international results throughout the 2026 season. Lucas Zhou, the Junior Men’s bronze medallist at the 2025 UCI BMX Racing World Championships and the newly crowned 2026 Junior Men’s world champion, will join the roster in his rainbow stripes. Returning 2025 Junior Women’s Canadian Champion, Victoria Dubé, will also join the group. The field is strong this year, with an exceptional roster across all categories and no shortage of athletes capable of delivering standout performances.
