CANADIAN PARA-CYCLING TEAM SET FOR BACK‑TO‑BACK WORLD CUPS IN BELGIUM AND ITALY

OTTAWA ON (April 21, 2026) – Cycling Canada is pleased to announce the roster of athletes who will represent Canada at the next two upcoming rounds of the 2026 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Cup circuit, with competition set for April 28–May 1 in Gistel, Belgium, followed by May 7–10 in Montesilvano, Italy. These two consecutive World Cups mark an important early-season opportunity for Canada’s para-cycling program as athletes continue their progression toward the world championships later this year.

“It’s good to be back to racing after a solid winter of training,” says Sebastien Travers, National Team Coach, Para-Cycling Lead. “These World Cups will give us an opportunity to make adjustments, before we start the qualification process for the next Paralympics starting this September.”

Canada heads into the World Cups with a strong and experienced team. Alexandre Hayward (MC3) arrives with the momentum of his 2025 UCI Para‑cycling Road World Championships time trial title, joined by Nathan Clément (MT2), a one‑time road and two-time time trial para-cycling world champion. Alongside them, Mel Pemble (WC3) brings exceptional experience as an 11‑time UCI Para‑cycling Track World Championship medalist and four‑time world champion, translating that determination and speed onto the road.
