OTTAWA, ON (October 17, 2025) – Cycling Canada is pleased to announce the launch of its search process for a Chief Executive Officer, commencing October 2025. This important process will be led by a sub-committee of the Board of Directors, chaired by Mark Collins, with the support of Lighthouse Executive Search, a leading Canadian recruiting firm specializing in executive placements within the sport sector.
The successful candidate will succeed Matthew Jeffries, who held the CEO role from 2018 until May of 2025. After taking parental leave through parts of 2024 and early 2025, Mr. Jeffries made the decision to step down from the CEO position in May 2025 to focus on his young and growing family. Cycling Canada is grateful that Matthew has agreed to continue providing support and guidance to the leadership team as Director of Special Projects.
Since January 2025, Mathieu Boucher has served as Acting CEO in addition to his role of Chief Development Officer and will continue in this capacity throughout the search process. The Board of Directors wishes to recognize and thank both Matthew Jeffries and Mathieu Boucher for their outstanding leadership and dedication during these periods of transition.
Further updates regarding the search process and timelines will be shared on Cycling Canada’s website and social media channels.
