2026 CANADIAN ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS RETURN TO SAINT-GEORGES

OTTAWA, ON (June 24, 2026) – Canada’s top road cyclists are set to return to Saint‑Georges, Quebec this weekend for the 2026 Canadian Road Championships, where riders will compete for the maple leaf jersey across Elite, U23, Junior, U17, and Para‑cycling categories. Running from June 25 to 28, the Championships remain one of the most anticipated events on the domestic calendar, bringing together athletes nationwide for four days of high-level racing in the heart of the Beauce region.

“Hosting the Canadian Road Championships in Saint‑Georges is always a highlight of our domestic calendar,” says Jacob Graper, Events & Officials Manager at Cycling Canada. “The passion of the road community and the expertise of the Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce organizers create an environment that showcases the very best of Canadian road racing. We’re grateful for their support and thrilled to welcome athletes and supporters back again this year.”

The Championships, organized by Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce, will once again showcase the demanding terrain that has made Saint‑Georges and the Tour de Beauce a cornerstone of Canadian road racing for over 40 years. Racing begins Thursday with individual time trials, continues through the weekend with road races across all categories, and concludes Sunday with a downtown criterium in Saint‑Georges.

“The Canadian Road Championships gives emerging athletes the chance to experience a world‑class environment right here in our region,” says Saint- Georges Mayor Manon Bougie. “We owe that reputation in large part to the expertise and remarkable work of the Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce organizing team. Saint‑Georges and Beauce offer an incomparable setting that helps make this competition a memorable moment for both participants and visitors.”

This year’s national championships take on added significance as Canada prepares to host the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal this September, bringing the event to home soil for the first time since 1974. This year’s Canadian championship field is stacked with talent, including riders such as Maggie Coles‑Lyster, Alison Jackson, Olivia Baril, Mel Pemble, Derek Gee, Alexandre Hayward and Hugo Houle.

Cycling Canada looks forward to welcoming athletes and supporters to Saint- Georges this weekend as the nation’s best road racers compete for the maple leaf jersey. For more information, please visit the Cycling Canada event page.
