OTTAWA, ON (August 22, 2025) – Cycling Canada is pleased to announce that the 2027 Tissot UCI Track World Cup will return to Milton, Ontario’s Mattamy National Cycling Centre in 2027. Hosted from April 2-4, 2027, the competition is expected to serve as a key milestone in the build-up to the 2028 Olympic Games, offering an exciting opportunity for Canadian athletes to compete on home soil.
Originally built for the 2015 Pan American Games, the Mattamy National Cycling Centre is one of only two UCI-approved indoor velodromes in North America and has since become a cornerstone venue for high-performance cycling in Canada. The facility has previously hosted multiple editions of the UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup and World Cup, establishing itself as a world-class location for international competition.
“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome the world back to Milton for the Tissot UCI Track World Cup,” said Mathieu Boucher, acting CEO of Cycling Canada. “These events represent the pinnacle of international track cycling, and we are proud to once again showcase Canada’s passion for the sport on the world stage. The success of our previous events has laid a strong foundation, and we look forward to building on that momentum in 2027. Hosting these events is a powerful expression of Canadian unity—bringing together communities in support of our athletes and the sport we love.”
Athletes will be competing in all six Olympic events (i.e., sprint, keirin, team sprint, team pursuit, omnium, and madison) as well as elimination races over the three-day event. However, this is subject to change closer to the event.
Canadian athletes are already looking ahead to the opportunity. Sarah Orban, one of Canada’s top sprinters, shared her excitement: “It’s always special to race in front of a home crowd on our home track and extra special having friends and family in the stands cheering us on. We’ll be kicking off our Olympic qualifying campaign that year so having Milton as a stop on the circuit is super exciting. The team has had some amazing performances at past World Cups in Milton and hopefully we can deliver more of that in 2027.”
