OTTAWA, ON (August 18, 2026) – This weekend, Canada’s top BMX Freestyle riders wrapped up an action‑packed few days in Bromont, QC, where athletes from across the country competed at the Centre National de Cyclisme de Bromont (CNCB) for the 2026 Canadian BMX Freestyle Championships. Returning to the iconic Freestyle Zone for another year, the event delivered a full slate of high‑energy runs, with athletes showcasing amplitude, creativity, and technical precision on one of Canada’s most dynamic parks.
Marie‑Soleil St‑Laurent claimed the Elite Women’s national title with a confident ride, building on her momentum after securing the championship in 2025. As one of Canada’s younger freestyle athletes, St‑Laurent continues to show strong progression on the national stage, adding another milestone to what is shaping up to be a promising future in BMX Freestyle.
In the Elite Men’s category, Jeffrey Whaley captured the national championship following a powerful performance that highlighted his world-class experience. Whaley, Canada’s first‑ever Olympic BMX Freestyle athlete, delivered a polished run in Bromont, drawing on his international background to secure the top step of the podium.
The championships were followed by Sunday’s UCI C1 BMX Freestyle event, which brought together Canadian and international riders for another high-energy day in the Freestyle Zone.
