How to Follow the Cycling Canada Track team on their journey in glasgow
Starting July 30th our maple leaf clad women and men take to the boards in Glasgow at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Their home for the duration of the games will be the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, aptly named after the multiple time Commonwealth and Olympic games medalist, and Team Canada will be in action in all four days of track cycling programming.
Kicking it off, will be the Men’s Team Sprint team. Cole Demptser, James Hedgcock and Tyler Rorke will look to roll through qualification in session number 1. Team Sprint Finals will take place that evening in session number 2. The Pan American champions will have high hopes of replicating their success from Santiago on the Scottish shores at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Day 2 (Sessions 3&4), it’s going to be a busy one for the team. Women’s Individual Sprint events and Individual Pursuit events get rolling early in the morning, while the bunch races bring the action for the evening sessions. It’ll be the 2026 Glasgow debut for Sarah Orban, the Birmingham 2022 gold medalist, will be eager to come away with more hardware from her second games appearance.

Those evening sessions are going to be highlighted by the Commonwealth Games return of the newly crowned Canadian Road Race Elite Champion Maggie Coles-Lyster and the U23 Road Race champion Alexandra Volkov

Day 3 ( Sessions 5&6) doesn’t let up either, it’ll be the Men’s Scratch and Sprint events that take center stage on August 1st. Our duo of 20 year olds from Quebec Jonathan Hinse, and Gabriel Seguin had a great start to the year, winning the Madison silver medal at the 2026 Pan American Track championships in Santiago, Chile this past winter.

For the sprinters, it’s Individual Sprint day. The qualifying and quarter final rounds will be the focus of the first session. In the evening, it will be time to bring home the hardware with the semis and finals.
On Day 4 (sessions 7 &8) Calgary’s Orban will be back in the spotlight as the final day of track competition gets rolling. It’s finally time for women’s Keirin and the moto-paced action will be a fantastic way to cap 4 days of exciting racing.
