Cycling Canada is pleased to announce the athletes selected to represent Canada in the Junior Men’s and Junior Women’s categories at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal. This year’s roster highlights a strong group of riders, including several who advanced through the Bill Buckley Junior Spring European Project, gaining valuable international race experience earlier this season.
The 2026 UCI Road World Championships mark a landmark moment for Canadian sport, returning to Montréal 52 years after the city hosted the 1974 edition, the first Road Worlds ever held outside Europe. Taking place from September 20–27, 2026, the championships will be the largest sporting event in Montréal since the 1976 Olympic Games, drawing approximately 1,000 athletes from more than 80 countries and hundreds of thousands of spectators across eight days of racing, making it a unique opportunity for Canadian junior athletes to showcase their developing skills.
This year’s roster features a strong group of junior athletes who have demonstrated consistency and progression across domestic and international calendars. On the women’s side, riders such as Élodie Malois, Elly Moore, and Julia Lehmann delivered standout performances at Tour du Gévaudan Occitanie Femmes, In Flanders Fields – Middelkerke–Wevelgem, and multiple Belgian kermesse events, earning top‑ten results against deep European fields. The men’s program has shown similar momentum, with Amos Scott Bouris, Carter de Veer, and Zachari Moreau gaining experience at GP West Bohemia and the Course de la Paix Juniors, where they demonstrated competitiveness across multi‑day events. A number of athletes also delivered strong results at the Tour de l’Abitibi, with Carter de Veer, Molly Flynn, Élodie Malois, Elly Moore, and Sandrine Veilleux all finishing inside the top five of the general classification.

This progression has been supported in part by the Bill Buckley Junior Spring European Project, which provided targeted international development opportunities for juniors earlier this season. Almost all of the athletes selected for Road Worlds participated in that initiative, showcasing the impact of the project on developing athletes, and the continued generosity of Club 1882 donor Bill Buckley.
