OTTAWA, ON (March 31, 2026) – The next generation of Canadian track cyclists delivered a weekend of standout performances at the 2026 Canadian Track Championships (U17/ JR), held at the new Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre in Edmonton. Athletes from across the country showcased their talent and determination, with several riders emerging as multi‑event champions in their respective categories.

In the U17 Women’s field, Addison Marcynuk (Milton Revolution Racing) proved to be one of the most dominant riders of the Championships, securing national titles in the Pursuit, Keirin, Points Race, Elimination Race, Sprint and Time Trial. The Équipe du Québec captured national titles in the Team Pursuit, Team Sprint, and Madison.

The U17 Men’s category featured equally thrilling racing, highlighted by the performances of Alexander Gies (Lametto Rose/ Factors). Breaking the Canadian record in the flying 200m, Gies told Canadian Cyclist, “I’m definitely proud of the Canadian Record, I had my eyes on it from last year and it was something I really wanted so I’m really thrilled to have achieved that.” Gies earned gold in the Pursuit, Sprint, Madison (with partner Tomas Liska – Gardiner), and 500m Time Trial, and played a key role in Team Ontario’s victories in both the Team Pursuit and Team Sprint.

In the Junior Women’s events, Élodie Malois (Equipe du Quebec) delivered one of the most exciting performances of the Championships, sweeping the Pursuit, Scratch Race, Points Race, Elimination Race, Sprint, and Kilo Time Trial. Malois also contributed to Québec’s victory in the Team Sprint and paired with Emilie Tessier to win the Madison. To close off the weekend, she also managed to break three Canadian Records in the individual pursuit, team sprint and time trial. “I’m proud of what I accomplished this weekend, the hard work payed off. I trained for months and months and I even went to Europe to gain international experience,” said Malois to Canadian Cyclist.

Cohen Vigliotti (Team British Columbia) and Amos Scott Bouris (PNW Racing) delivered standout performances in the Junior Men’s competition. Vigliotti earned gold in the Keirin and Points Race, and later joined Amos Scott Bouris and West Pollock to secure the Team Sprint title for Team BC 2.
